When the friendly URLs landed last week, the next thing on the list was: make sure the things that should work, actually do. A handful of small bugs and one very big one were quietly breaking the experience. This week, fixed.
⚡ Zaps go through, end-to-end
The big one. Until today, tapping Zap on a creator’s profile technically opened a modal — but the modal had no visible styling (it was there, just invisible), the form posted to an endpoint that doesn’t exist, and even when invoices got paid, the platform never noticed and never forwarded the sats to the creator’s Lightning address.
That’s all fixed:
- Tap Zap → pick an amount → pay the invoice with any Lightning wallet
- The platform detects the payment, marks it settled, and forwards your sats (minus the platform’s small cut) to the creator’s Lightning address — automatically, within seconds
- The creator sees a notification, and their profile counter ticks up
The first real zap on the platform went through earlier today. It works.
A notification bell that, you know, opens
The bell up top showed you how many unread notifications you had, but clicking it did nothing. Now it opens a panel: most recent first, with timestamps, and each item is clickable. Mark all read clears them when you’re done.
Profile tabs actually switch
The Posts / Podcasts / About tabs on every creator profile used to just underline themselves on click. Now they swap the content underneath — Posts shows writing, Podcasts shows audio, About shows the bio.
Default avatars for everyone
Profiles without an uploaded picture used to render as a broken image icon. Now they get a clean coloured circle with your initial. Same colour every visit — calm enough to not steal attention from the writing.
Save profile no longer wipes your wallet
Quiet bug, big consequence: clicking Save profile silently cleared your saved Lightning address. Profile and payout settings are properly separate now.
Articles you click on Explore actually go to the article
The article cards on the Explore page used to link back to Explore itself instead of the writing. Click → page reloads → confused reader. Fixed.
Tapping the logo lands you on Explore
Signed-in users used to bounce through an empty Feed when they tapped the PaterNostr logo. Now it goes to Explore — where the writing actually is.
Small things you might notice
- The footer now shows which version of the platform is running, so when you spot something off, you can tell me exactly which build you’re on
- On your own profile, the Zap and Subscribe buttons now read Edit profile and Edit tier instead (you can’t really subscribe to yourself)
- Hover over any creator’s name and you’ll see their friendly handle — paternostr.cc/@yourname — properly everywhere
