Lightning-first way as everything else.
Here’s what’s new.
Upload your audio — no outside host needed
Adding audio used to mean pasting a link to a file hosted somewhere else. That’s over. Upload your MP3 or M4A straight to PaterNostr — up to 500 MB per file, enough for a full-length episode or a high-quality track. We store it and stream it for you.
Group it into shows and albums
Loose files aren’t a podcast. Now your audio has structure:
- Podcasts — create a show, then publish episodes into it, numbered and in order.
- Albums — create an album, then add tracks, with per-track lengths and a total runtime.
Every show and album gets its own page: cover art, description, the full list, and a single button to play the whole thing.
A player your listeners will actually use
There’s now a proper player that sticks to the bottom of the screen and keeps going as people browse. It plays straight through an episode list or a tracklist, remembers where each listener left off, supports playback speed and 15-second skips, and shows up in the phone’s lock-screen controls. Press play once and the whole show plays.
Subscribe in any podcast app
Every podcast on PaterNostr now has a real RSS feed, so listeners can subscribe in Apple Podcasts, Antennapod, Fountain, Overcast — wherever they already listen. New episodes just appear.
And it works for paid shows too. Each subscriber gets a private feed link that carries their access with them: their podcast app plays the subscriber-only episodes they’re entitled to, and no one else’s. Your paywall holds, even outside the website.
Your paywall, everywhere
Audio works exactly like your writing. Make an episode or track free, gate it behind a membership tier, or set a one-time price in sats. Free previews, members-only releases, pay-per-episode — your call, on every piece. And whether someone listens on the site, in the player, or in their podcast app, the same rule decides what they can hear.
Get started
Creators: open your dashboard, head to Shows, and create a podcast or an album. Then add an episode or track, upload your audio, drop it into the show, and publish. If you’ve already set up a membership tier or a Lightning address, you’re ready to charge for it.
Listeners: hit play on any show to start the bottom player, or tap Subscribe in a podcast app to copy the feed into your podcast player of choice.
We built this so the people who make audio can own their work and their audience the way writers already do here — keys, feeds, and payments that belong to you. Go publish something.
