Welcome to PaterNostr

Welcome everyone!

This is my first in a set of future articles where I’ll be explaining development of PaterNostr platform as it progresses.

About the Paternostr platform

First of all let me say that everyone is welcome to issue constructive criticism. I’ll make sure that every reasonable request is looked at and then determined if it’s doable and/or appropriate to develop. Every good idea will be gladly developed and we’ll all be able to enjoy a better platform as a result.

For now, this is still in pre-alpha stage, so a lot of things people are used to see, such as documentation, more convenient shortcuts etc are not yet fully implemented - but they are coming soon.

Right now you can already use the platform to start writing. You can create tiers - however you decide to use them. This in practice means that you can have a free tier, a set of paying tiers or combinations of this. If you decide to create a paying tier, you can add paywalls in your articles at any point you want. You will see a button for the Paywall in your article editor. The editor is simple and covers the basics. We didn’t want to complicate matters where there’s no real need for it - at least not at this stage. Should people want more features, we’re open to add them, but we’d first like to see if people prefer the simply over the complex. Creators who decide on the paying tiers can choose between normal fiat transactions (credit-cards) going safely through Stripe, and/or Bitcoin Lightning. The second option allows for more anonymity of course.

Each user on Paternostr automatically gets a Nostr account as well. You can use that account on any Nostr application if you want to and we will continue to develop and integrate Nostr features into our own platform. There’s quite a few interesting features coming down the pipe. Be sure to save you nsec key! That is really important because it is completely yours. We don’t control it.

What’s new today

Today we shipped a dedicated security audited build. Everything was looked at from start to the end for possible leaks, holes, vulnerabilities and if found patched. We hope this will keep us safe for the future. Security audits will be a regular occurrence in the future as well.

I’ll try to keep these as short as possible so with that, so I’ll just welcome the first of you again, and see you next time.
